Thursday morning I walked down into the garden and was surprised by the absolute explosion of blooms in the lilli garden.  In 24 hours they had gone from being ever so close to blooming to an armful of color.Yes, I was a few minutes late leaving the house waiting for the light to hit the orange enchantment lilies my favorite subjects in the garden.  Here are the first shots of the season.

About Jane Rickard

Jane is a native of Western New York and a proud graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology and the SUNY system. How many people move to Chicago for the weather? In 1999 Jane moved to Chicago to escape Buffalo’s 68” (average) inches of snow each winter. Years ago with the encouragement of friends she returned to an old passion--- photography. Jane is known world-wide as the photographer who burned out a Canon Rebel by shooting roughly 80,000 images over two years followed by a 50D in 18 months for grand total of 230,000 images in 42 months. Even Canon was impressed. She has written for the Chitowdailynews and has been a stringer for the Chicago Tribune and the Atlanta Journal Constitution. She was a an early voice of caution and for research in post concussion syndrome in hockey at all levels long before it was considered a serious matter outside of the medical community. Presently Jane lives with her husband, Patrick and their three cats. She is impatiently waiting for a daughter to return from art school in California and her garden to bloom.
