The Gordon Tech varsity girls team (12-12) lost, 54 to 45 to the Maine East Blue Demons (13-14), Tuesday evening at Gordon’s Tom Weinicki Gym. Suspect officiating did not help the Rams against the hot shooting Blue Demons.
In the final home game for GT senior’s Melanie Claudio, Sarah Granberg and Sarah Rivas, the Rams and Blue Demons exchanged baskets and leads through the first half. But in the third quarter, Maine East pulled ahead outscoring the Gordon 13 to 3. The Rams battled back in the 4th with including 2 three-pointers but the Rams couldn’t make up the difference.
Senior center Melanie Claudio lead the Rams with thirteen points.

Next up for the Rams is the IHSA playoffs. They have the ninth seed in the Vernon Hills Sectional. The Rams face the regional host and eighth seed, Lakes High School, next Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at 7:30 p.m.
