The Gordon Tech Girls Varsity (3-2) lost a heartbreaker to the St. Viator Lions (4-2) Tuesday evening at the Tom Wienicki Gym. After having swept the Ida Crown Jewish Academy Thanksgiving Tournament, the Rams faced the East Suburban Catholic Conference’s St. Viator Lions.
The Lions jumped out to an early lead with help from the Rams’ seventeen first half turnovers. Viator maintained the big lead until the fourth quarter when the Rams charged back. Inspired defense and excellent free throw shooting brought the Rams to within two, 45-47, with 4:36 left in the game. The Rams didn’t get any closer.
GT faces neighborhood rival St. Benedict next Tuesday at the St. Benedict Gym.
