Despite Two TDs and Two Interceptions in 2nd Half, Rams Fall Short

The Gordon Tech Rams (2-2) lost a heartbreaker to Hales Franciscan (3-1), 18 to 13, Friday afternoon at Lane Stadium. The largest home crowd in many years saw the Rams take on preseason favorite Hales Franciscan. GT fell behind in the first quarter 12-0 in this important game in the Chicago Catholic League, Red Divsion.
But the Rams keep fighting with two long second half touchdown passes by senior quarterback Scott Calderon and two fourth quarter interceptions by the Rams defense. A replay of last year’s exciting last minute victory by the Rams was not to be. The Rams couldn’t manage to punch in a third second half TD.
It doesn’t get easier from here for the Rams. Catholic League rival and last year’s IHSA 8A runner-up, Loyola Academy Ramblers, comes to Lane Stadium next Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
