Rams fall to Bishop McNamara, 39 to 38
The Gordon Tech Rams suffered tough loss, 39 to 38, to Bishop McNamara on Friday evening at Gordon Tech. The Rams lead most of the game and looked to be on the way to their first Catholic League victory in thirty-five tries. The Rams’ stifling defense frustrated the Fightin’ Irish all game long but the Rams struggled to score in the second half. The Rams scored only sixteen points in the second half. Proving the old basketball truth—free throws win games—the Rams went 8 for 18 at the line. The Fightin’ Irish pulled even after the Rams missed their last five chances from the charity strip. Bishop Mac senior guard Mitch O’Brien hit a free throw after time had expired to win the game.
Next up for the Rams is the Luther North Christmas Tournament. See more photos from the Bishop Mac game at the Welles Park Bulldog Facebook page.
