High school football returned to the Chicago Public Schools this weekend. The Lane Tech Indians (2-2) defeated the Chicago Vocational Career Academy Cavaliers (1-3) 35 t0 8 Saturday evening at Lane Stadium. Lane Tech evened its record to 2 wins and 2 losses with a convincing will over Illini (Red Bird) Conference rival Chicago Vocational Career Academy. Its really a shame what has happenned to Lane Football. Guess after the days of Coach Rio everything went downhill. Still crying over loss to Weber in Mayor Daly Bowl in 1965. Bring back the powerhouse we once knew!
