December 2, 2012
By Jack Lydon

Alderman Pawar Joins Familes to Light Tree

Rudy Flores, Ald, Ameya Pawar and Carol Himmel

Continuing another local holiday tradition, neighbors gathered Saturday afternoon at the Giddings Plaza for the lighting the of the Christmas Tree. Dozens of neighborhood families attended. 47th Ward Alderman Ameya Pawar had the honor of lighting the tree (plugging in the lights) and was joined by new Lincoln Square Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce Executive Dircetor Rudy Flores and the DANK House’s Carol Himmell.

The Lincoln Square Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce sponsored the tree lighting. The DANK House Children’s Corus sang a few Christmas carols. After the DANK House Corus, several spirited performers lead the gathered group in the some carols.

See very entertaining video from the carol signing at the Welles Park Bulldog facebook page.
