Brew Camp, which shut itself down late last week is reopening at a new site it reports on Facebook and by email.
The store, which supplies brewing equipment and supplies, hit a snag as city bureaucrats became confused about how to license the store. A visit Thursday to Brew Camp and we hear that things are settling down. The city has decided to regulate the store as a food vendor.
That might make sense, sort of. Most of the materials going into brewing are raw: sugar, yeast, malt and hops.
But for the most part you have to process these materials to have something most people would describe as delicious or even edible for that matter.
The new site of Brew Camp is 4639 N Damen, near the Damen Ave ‘L’ Brown Line Station.
