Illinois Senate President John Cullerton tells the State Journal Register a proposal by public employee unions to close business tax breaks and raise taxes to cover pension obligations isn’t flying.
Cullerton is sponsoring SB 1, a bill which would reduce cost of living adjustments.
Unions are proposing tax changes and additional contributions by workers instead.
