Larry Flynt, the publisher of Hustler magazine, will preside over the grand opening of the Hustler Hollywood store in Lakeview September 7, according to a report at MSNBC.
Flynt has championed a number of first amendment cases as the publisher of Hustler. His story was documented in the film ‘The People v Larry Flynt,’ a movie that stars Woody Harrelson.
Yet Flynt is remembered less for his defense of the First Amendment than for publishing his edgy adult magazine.
Flynt is the survivor of a 1978 assassination attempt. The attempt left him paralyzed below the waist.
