Chicago Park District facilities and offices will be closed Monday, March 7, as a last-resort measure to balance the district’s $400 million budget, park district officials announced Wednesday.
Officials said the district will save $2.5 million by shutting down Monday, as well as the day after Thanksgiving, the day before Christmas Eve and the day before New Year’s Eve.
