Mell, O’Connor delay vote on Lincoln Park Hospital plan

A plan to develop the Lincoln Park Hospital site into a mixed use development was delayed by Aldermen, including Patrick O’Connor, Richard Mell and Edward Burke according to a report in the Chicago Tribune.

The delay gives incoming alderman Michele Smith time to work out a compromise with developers and the community.

The issue was widely reported by community news for the 43rd Ward. Smith had opposed the plan, according to the Tribune. Retiring alderman Vi Daley had favored the plan. She expressed frustration at not being able to push the plan through.
